Slabjacking / mudjacking

Mudjacking is a foundation repair solution that involves pumping a mixture of cement and water underneath a concrete slab in order to lift it. Although the elements of the mixture remain virtually the same from project to project, the procedures might be very different depending on the specifics of the job.

The reason this procedure exists is to combat the natural sinking or settling of concrete. For instance, if the original concrete was installed on dirt that was not properly compacted, it is very likely that the slab will eventually start to sag. Another reason to implement mudjacking is in cases of soil erosion, which is another very common occurrence. Through no fault the concrete installation contractor though, earth naturally settles over time, so if your slab is over ten years old, this might just be a natural progression.  Mudjacking is an important pressure grouting solution because it helps to do away with unwanted water run-off and other potentially serious foundational issues.
